A FLOOD WARNING has been issued to 58 UK cities and towns that could face disaster according to an expert from Newcastle University who analysed changes in weather conditions throughout the years 2051 to 2100.

Mr Dawson called for increased defences in a desperate scramble to combat future floods

Dr Richard Dawson, a lead investigator on the study, issued that stark warning that could have dire consequences on the country.

He stated: “Even in the most optimistic scenario, 85% of the 58 UK cities in the study are predicted to face increased river flooding.

“While for the high scenario, half of UK cities could see at least a 50% increase on peak river flows.

"The least optimistic result would mean all 58 cities experience flooding.

"The trend over the next 30 or so years is a growth in flooding risk, it is essential that planning is done now to prevent future scenarios."

The research suggested that the areas of London, Glasgow, Carlisle and Wrexham could be dealt the biggest blows from horrifying floods.

Increased greenhouse gases are blamed for the shocking revelation that could trigger droughts in addition to horrific floods.
