Secondus, PDP leaders in closed door meeting with IBB

National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Uche Secondus, Saturday, led some members of the National Executive Committee of the party to a meeting with former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida.

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP lead by the Party Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Saturday paid a courtesy visit to former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, in Minna, Niger State.





In attendance were the National Secretary, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Tsauri; National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Maibasira; National Financial Secretary, Austin Akobundu; National Organising Secretary, Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure; National Vice Chairman, North, and Mr Kola Ologbodiyan, National Publicity Secretary.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that Secondus briefed Babangida on the efforts being made by the leadership to reposition the party for the tasks ahead.

Babangida was said to have assured the EXCO and the party of his support .

Farmers/herders’ clashes triggered by environmental, not ethnic/religious issues – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has blamed the incessant clashes between farmers and herdsmen on environmental, rather than ethnic or religious issues, while assuring of the Federal Government’s commitment to finding a lasting solution to the clashes. The Minister, who stated this at a mini town hall meeting which he organized for the staff of the Nigerian Embassy in Berlin, Germany, and a cross-section of Nigerians residing in the European country on Friday, noted that contrary to the narrative being pushed in certain quarters that gives ethnic and religious coloration to the clashes, they were caused by purely environmental issues.
